And as quickly as it came, The 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas was over faster than a speeding Tweet. We’re still coming down from our tech high and the innovation buzz will continue long after the last trending hashtags have been posted. With more than 3,600 exhibitors bringing the very latest in technology, the show once again proved it’s THE place for the who’s-who of future innovation.
For those not in attendance, CES 2015 was still brought to the forefront thanks to social media. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine were teaming with activity, and CES even made its debut on Snapchat. The event, “…received over 921,193 online mentions in just 4 days!” (Source: FleishmanHillard.com).
3D printing made an impressive splash at the show for both personal and professional use. 3D printing and scanning was seen in all forms, from: ceramics, plastics, medical parts, metals and even edible culinary printing.
Wearable tech was proudly on display at many a trade show booth, showcasing wearables that ranged from smart clothing, watches (such as the Sony® SmartWatch 3 powered by iFit Technology, pictured and Cashback below), cameras, pet collars, glasses and even Swarvoski smart jewelry.
As ride-sharing from Lyft, Car2Go and Uber became the preferred mode of transportation in 2014, Ford has hopped onto the crowdsourcing trend and announced their international pilot test for rent by the minute vehicles in 2015.
